Thanks for the neat image. Here is a watercolor interpretation.

I decided that one looked a bit dark. Adjusted the contrast and brightness along with hue and saturation.

This was a nice image to work with.

Catia--That's a very good watercolor look. I like how the blurring increased as my eye moved to the end of the dock.

Don--I like everything about this image except the brick. The colors, lines for detail and blurring of the colored areas worked very well together.

I'm still playing with impressionist. This has some chalk and glass presets that have been modified with a sketch overlay.

Catia : I like the second one best. The first is a bit dark to my liking too!

Cheryl : I like the effect, only the beams look a little dark.

layer 1 : dupe bg ,used the basic sketch outline technique but instead of blurring I used the colored pencil effect / usm
layer 2 : dupe bg /color
layer 3 : dupe bg and run glass filter- mask everything off exept the water / pin light
layer 4 : dupe bg / 60% / normal /mask everything off except the sky
layer 5 : dupe bg, run colored pencil at another setting-eliminate black/ normal

flatten

dupe this layer an run impressionist chalk sketch on fine laid paper/ soft light

I like what you did. I guess I am being lazy I should go out and figure it out, but out of what filter do the diagonal lines come from?

Bob : the vertical lines come from the colored pencil effect. I selected the grey blotches and deleted them. This leaves the fainter stripes; I have actually used it twice here : on the sketch outline instead of gblur and on layer five
