Kind of a peaceful looking place...

Combined the results of two actions... the "watercolor" layer rendered by Mike Finn's Insta-sketch [beta] available here http://homepages.slingshot.co.nz/~mikefinn/action.html

and an action from my personal collection (e-mail me if you'd like a copy).

Danny, I like both the image and your watercolor!

I took a different approach -- something SPOOKY! :ogre:

Anyway, here are the steps:
* Tachyon
* Dupe layers, highpass top layer (overlay)
* Edge-Preserving smooth on bottom layer
* Create new layer from merged
* Boss-Emboss
* Dupe Edge layer
* Save

Danny:
Thanks for the image, I hope you don't mind but I flipped the church around. To me anyway it seemed more natural.
Anyway since you posted Fieval Gothic I tried that first then applied Mike Finns Mattise.
Thanks

Danny--nice mix of actions. I like the simplification mixed with the mottled colors.

Jeff--certainly a midnight type mood--good for the halloween season

Bob--that's beautiful. It's got such a nice, light feel to it.

I used my mixed bag process again. I'll get out of this stage soon.:tongue:

The bottom (color) layer is MS impressionist followed by paint engine.

The upper (sketch) layer is buzz simplifer and edges mono followed by impressionist then paint engine. Blending mode was color burn.

Bob - this is very nice; I like the way the leaves look painted and the church looks photographed. Good contrasts.

Cheryl, I LOVE THIS!!!! It looks like the pieces of paper pasted on to the background. WOW! :bigthmb:

Thanks Jeff--impressionist and buzz seem to work well together--at least so far ;)

Bob--glad you're enjoying the forum. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

I applied Paint Engine's Sponge filter, lessened
Then PSP8's Colored Edges, black.
Softened.
