Please go to my gallary (gibsonse) an check out the "man dog flag" picture. I have a friend who is convinced that the man in the picture is his father. I think this is a painting and not a photo, but I'd like to ask for the opinions of the fine folks here as well.
What do you think?
Also, any suggestions on where to go to find the original of this?
Thanks folks!

I'm leaning slightly toward photo because of the detail in the flag, but I sure wouldn't be the farm on it. Then again the extremely bright reds (especially in the jacket) and the background building color look painting-like.
If this is a photo, seems it would have had to been taken fairly recently. Jackets 30-60 years ago didn't have colors like this.
Good luck with the investigation.

My guess is that it's a photograph that's been worked over.
I find the lighting on the man's knee and hand odd. If it were painted, would an artist that talented paint such odd lighting?
Regarding its origin: I've never seen it before, where did you find it?
