View Full Version : Creative interpretations: Madras Sales Woman DannyRaphael 12-07-2003, 07:53 PM I guess we're on an international roll this week. Crete in another one; Madras in this one. Kinda makes you want to explore the world a bit -or- perhaps explore your backyard instead.

Have a good week.
~Danny~ catia 12-08-2003, 09:46 AM Decided to just run Pixel Painter on this one. Added a vanGogh texture pattern.
Catia Cheryl H 12-08-2003, 10:52 PM I started with my mixed bag action (Lower layer is impressionist custom preset crackeld paint followed by paint engine bad brush, upper layer is a buzz sketch followed by impressionist crackledpaint and paint engine-borg), then topped it with a gaussian blur sketch. Merged it all and played with some nik filters to beef up the color intensity. Paris 12-09-2003, 01:32 AM Catia, what is the Pixel Painter that you refer too? Is it a plugin, a stand alone, or something else?
Loved the outcome, no matter what it is.
** Paris ** catia 12-09-2003, 02:18 PM Paris,
Thanks for the complement. I appreciate it.
Pixel Painter is a Photoshop action written by Mike Finn.
Catia lglogan 12-09-2003, 09:51 PM Well, folks it has been a long time so bare with me. You have learned a lot since I have been away. Hence I have a lot of catching up to do, but here is my humble try.
Say Cheese,
Lynda lglogan 12-09-2003, 10:01 PM Here is another attempt. This was done very simply with PhotoBrush 1.7 using the Oil Emboss filter and the Filter-sim #21 Kodak filter.
Smiles... DannyRaphael 12-10-2003, 09:11 AM It's SO NICE to see you creations. You definitely haven't lost your touch.
Welcome home and welcome back, Lynda.
~Danny~ ahutton 12-24-2003, 05:15 AM I've been at another forum where everything seems cartoony. I had been using several programs, but when Paintshop Pro 8 came out I really haven't used anything else. If that makes me ineligible for this forum, please let me know. I hope not, because what I've seen so far of your work here, this is where I'd like to be.
I took the lady from Crete and added a texture and then a leather texture and softened it a bit.
Amy Hutton ahutton 12-24-2003, 05:18 AM I see that this is a MADRAS woman, not a CRETE woman....
Ahutton:eek: catia 12-24-2003, 09:28 AM Hello again Amy,
No tools rules here. I use PSP8 some myself. There are some things I like PS7 for and some I like to do in PSP8.
Nice rendition.
Catia DannyRaphael 12-25-2003, 11:53 PM Hello Amy:
What a great way to get started here. A BIG Welcome!
Creating photo-art using Paint Shop Pro is perfectly acceptable. I have Paint Shop Pro 7 myself and dabble with it every now and then. (I got Corel Painter last summer, so I'm still getting used to that at the moment.)
I see you've posted a couple more creations, and I'm looking forward to checking them out, too.

Just finished checking out your other posts. Outstanding work!
You're a breath of fresh air!

Again, welcome aboard. You're our official forum Christmas present for 2003!
~Danny~
P.S. If you didn't see it during registration, click the "map" link in my sig. below for a nifty way to find your way around. Patricia 12-27-2003, 12:57 PM Gave this one a try.
Three layers - background; paint engine artic, about 60% opacity; paint engine impressionist 2, also about 60% opacity. Added a solid fill layer with a color chosen from the picture, and painted with a dry brush.
Then, copy merged and paste to get a new layer. Finally, chose the solid color, feathered slightly, and filled to soften the edges. Added a texture, and voila! it's done.
Patricia Patricia 12-27-2003, 01:02 PM ok, where'd the image go?
FYI: If you preview the text, the attachment path is erased and has to be repopulated before posting the image. Software quirk! :) Nice results. ~Danny~
try again . . . catia 12-27-2003, 02:13 PM Nice result Patricia. I like the way you did the background. Good choice of color also.
Catia jch71566 02-11-2004, 01:36 PM dredging the archives again.....
I first adjusted contrast (flattened a bit) and then colors (increased saturation).
Next, I applied PaintEngine: Soft Mosaic a few times.
Viola!

In some cases (like this one) "Dredging is good!"
I had to dust off PE and check out that setting. It was one I hadn't tried before. I like it a lot! Sure works nice on this pic.
So I started messing with it...
Then I started tweaking PE results further with Impressionist. I've been playing for the past 45 minutes and it's all your fault, Jeff. Thank you! :)
