Say hello (or perhaps, "Meow") to Tom.

Big kitty!

Overlaid with b/w line art copy in Photoshop, with a vertical gradient layer mask

Coloured eyes.

Smetz--that is too cute. Great idea! :D

Christine--great eyes. Good job fixing the pupils.

C--the green makes it look like a cranky kitty. I don't think I'd be telling that one to get out of my chair.

I started with something I picked up at dpreview.

duplicate the background and smudge paint.
duplicate the smudge painted layer and run Buzz sketch 1 with remove set to around 100 set the blending mode to color burn then merged all to a new layer.
duplicated this layer and ran Lucis sculpture. Reduced opacity to 65% and set the blending mode to pin light.

That's really effective Cheryl.

Thanks Christine. I've only tried the smudge/buzz a few times, but I do like the look it gives.

Christine, I like that version. The eyes are neat. :)

Thanks for the comment Cheryl. That is a great smudge version. I like the direction you used in the strokes, especially the nose moving to the eyes in the same direction as the slant of the eyes. :)

CH:

The SmudgeBuzz look is very unique. Very "painted" looking. Another to add to your "winners" list.

Two more DreamSuite effects (Mosaic and Crease). Decided to mask the whiskers, eyes and nose.

Can you tell I'm having fun with these plugins?

Thanks Danny--I got that from dpreview where someone had used it on a floral shot (it's great on flowers). Did you get new filters for xmas? The mosaic gave a nice finish on the cat's fur.

I got DS1 and DS2 almost two years ago. Just getting around to playing around with them. Danny)

Like most cats, great photo subjects....but I like the bored look this one assumed.

I think this photo is brilliant, i have seen that facial expression so many times, we call it the "dont even think of it face " :cat: In fact when i showed my hubby the photo he thought it was our cat ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Palms

Photoshop I have included a b&w version mainly because i think it has changed from being a domestic cat to a wild cat look

Cheryl... Excellent smudge!

Palms, great stuff.

I'm allergic to cats, but appreciate their renown mistique. They DO have an attitude.

Used the liquify tool to reshape the eyes and push the fur around. Added some Craquelure. History brush with some hue and spatter jitters. Went back in and lightly definde some of the facial structure lines.

Now that is cool Swampy, move away from your screen and you get a better view.

You guys have been busy on this one! Swampy -- you took him from scary cat to sinister beast! Peter -- now that you've had your eyes fixed -- do you still see rabbits (think carefully before answering...) It's okay, I see them too... (what's the name of your doctor?)

Found one of the old Kaleidoscope actions ...then after I ran it, I let him look at it.
