Hi,
I hope this is the correct area for this - if not, then you'll just have to take my first born.;)

The Measure tool in PS7, is there a way to keep it visible and select another tool, say a brush etc.?

I can't seem to find much info on this tool. It's almost as if it's a forgotten element of Photoshop.

Hi Paris,

Welcome to RetouchPro!

I did a quick test and I wasn't able to keep it visible, but if you need to mark for reference here are two ideas:

!)Use guides
-From the Menu select View>Rulers
-Drag from the ruler into the image, as many of them as you want from either direction and they stay visible.

2)With a new layer
-Paint marks on a new layer to reference and delete the layer when you are done ...

Hope this helps,
Roger

Hi Roger,

Thank you for the welcome and the alternate methods of getting some visible guide lines for working off.

The ruler idea worked a treat. It was just what I was looking for. I have an image that has edges in it that should be straight, but was having trouble getting it correct - but this now seems to be less difficult using the rulers.

Thanks.
