As most of you are prolific action users, I would like to invite you to try the beta version of a new commercial program I will be releasing soon called ActionDex. Born out of my own frustrations with trying to manage and organize hundreds of actions in the Photoshop actions palette (many from retouchpro.com :) ), I developed this program to make it simple to organize, manage, and save previews of actions.

More information and the beta download can be found at http://www.picstobits.com/adex_intro.php. I have a beta release discussion forum setup at http://www.picstobits.com/phpBB2/ where you can leave feedback or you can email it to support@picstobits.com.

Lastly, I hope I am not breaking any forum rules by posting here. I've learned a lot from the RetouchPRO forums and just wanted to get some feedback from the fine folks here.

Looks very interesting, Keith. Nicely constructed site & forum. Looks like you've got the ducks lined up.

Fix my registration on your site, OK. I apparently hosed it up. :) (see e-mail)

I'm in the process of installing the scripting plugin now.

Wow. This is impressive.

Fellow action heads: This could be the "killer app" when it comes to action management.

Thank you to all who have provided feedback on beta 1. Almost every change in beta 2 is a direct result of feedback you have provided. An extra big thanks to Danny Raphael who provided enough feedback alone to keep me busy for the entire week!

Me? Keep you busy? :)

This is the process, right?

Uninstall beta 1
Download beta 2
Install beta 2
Start having more fun

Thanks for your monumental efforts, Keith.

That would be the process... be sure to read the release notes (either on the download page or in the help file) to see the changes. In particular, if you have preview images the default preview dir has been moved to My Documents. You may have to update your preview dir in File>Preferences. BTW, existing .adex files will work fine with the new beta.

Hi Keith, Danny,

I'm just downloading ActionDex (beta 2 Version) ....

I use Actions a lot ... I even wrote my own as time savers for some basic or most usual steps I take when working on pictures...

Soooo, I know exactly what you mean by:

"frustrations with trying to manage and organize hundreds of actions in the Photoshop actions palette"

.... and finding the one I'm looking for!!!

.... Going to install .... I'll let you know ....
