AB Flora 04-22-2004, 10:40 AM Hi Antony, Welcome to RP! ...You surely made your entrance with an unusual request .... As far as I know, and as far as I'm concerned, the problem is how to eliminate scratches the best we can.... I don't know about any 'scratches creating' software .... but, waiting to find something better, you might have a look at this Tutorial (http://www.planetquake.com/hfx/tutorial3.html) .... :wavey: Xaran 04-22-2004, 11:06 AM No but I have successfully added scratches by extracting them from another picture and adding them. I used the luminosity selection (CTRL + ALT + ~) to do the selection from a very dark but scratched photo. Then just copied and pasted onto the other photo. Christine Mig 04-23-2004, 01:02 AM There's something called OldMovie plug in. Unfortunately, like so many filters, it's too predictable, but it does what you ask. http://www.soft411.com/company/VanDerLee/OldMovie.htm Antonyb 04-23-2004, 04:46 AM Many thanks everyone. I'm going to try making my own, although I am a bit puzzled by CTRL + ALT + ~ (I use a Mac, how does this translate and what tool do I have to be using to get this selection?) and I'll let you know how I get on. I'm inserting actors into real archive photos and I need some scratches to complete the illusion. Lovely to find this resource. Mille grazie! Pressing the keys will do the selection then just copy and paste into the other image. Christine Vikki 04-23-2004, 07:51 AM Another way to do this is to get, or make, some grundge brushes. I've applied a few different grundge brushes to this. I made a transparent layer and set my paint color to white. After I applied the brushes, I slightly embossed the layer to give it dimension. I duplicated that layer and set it to screen at a lower opacity to keep the whilte. This was a perfectly good photo of my mom..... Flora 04-23-2004, 08:09 AM Christine, Mig, Great Tips .... even though, I have to admit, I don't think I'll ever use them .... :o: ...(yeah ... I know .... 'never say never' .... ) WOW Vikki!! You'd never think the damage was done on purpose ....!!!!! Just perfectly 'ruined' ..... (deep down it hurts, though, ....... ) Antony, ...Prego! sono contenta di esserti stata d'aiuto!!! westsidemaurice 04-23-2004, 02:00 PM Copy the photo on film, send the film to a one-hour lab ...or to a pro lab that uses a Hope or Kreonite roller processor for film. Scan the negative. If that doesn't do the trick, carry the negatives around in your pocket for a few days, then scan. :dizzy: |
