You can find a Tutorial about using Layers here (http://retouchpro.com/tutorials/index.php?m=show&id=31)... One more tip .... never do any change to an original picture.... If you work with Photoshop, duplicate it by clicking on the "Create new Document from Current State" in your History Palette and work on the duplicate.

Personally, before anything else, I also always duplicate the Background by 'dragging' it onto the "Create a New Layer" button at the bottom of your Layers' Palette. Why? ... For correction of my changes in case I'm not satisfied with what I did, and for comparison.

Regarding layers, what some people do is create a new layer for each major portion of the image to be worked on, e.g., lips, eye-right, eye-left, hair, whatever. That way if you totally hose over, say, the right eye, you won't lose any of the work previously completed.

Regarding what you've done here, two words: Very nice. For being a rookie, your work looks very sophisticated. Well done.

Thx for your comments so far! I've uploaded a original size
photos now but with somewhat lower picture quality but
as far as I know those pics looks pretty much the same after
converting from high to medium quality in PS. I had to do that
cuz the file has to be <100 kb.

I hope it's easier for you to se the details now.

I don't see the larger version of the pic, but with a webcam pic you can't do too much. The colour of the skin is nice, but it leaves her with flat-looking skin, like she's spent too much on Spray-A-Tan. Still, pretty good.
If I could recommend something, I'd say try less. You want to make your changes subtle, unless you have a good reason not to. Here's an example where some of the grain has been removed, some minor cloning, selective blurring and a levels adjustment and a crop.
Really, this is the basics of retouching and if you want to get good you should learn the basics first.
