Hello
I am curious how does one do what the retoucher calls Zoom and crop -is this being done in Photoshop?

also how does he or she angle the photo - I am trying to learn different techniques and this one I can't seem to figure out !
Thanks

It really is quite simple, use the crop tool to select the area you want to crop to. To rotate the selection place the cursor just outside one of the corner selection markers (a small arrow will appear), then drag and rotate the selection. When you click on the tick to confirm the operation, the image will crop and rotate as you selected.

Hi Gary
Am I missing something ? But the pictures looks as though she was enlarged -the crop tool does this ? I thought the crop tool cropped not zoomed in -I am not sure if this rusty ole brain can hold much more info and the chance to upgrade to a new drive is light years away : )

Because you have cropped tighter to the object you are interested in, it per se takes up a greater part of the image, therefore it is in effect zoomed in. There will of course be less pixels, and therefore the new image is actually smaller. Provided you had enough pixels to start with, this should not too much of a problem. You could always resize your image, but this will cause some slight blurring.

I would think they used the transform tool. First enlarge the canvas size then you could scale it to the size you want and whatever tilt and then apply the effect and the picture will still be pretty clear.
