| View Full Version : Creative interpretations: Tiger resting DannyRaphael 05-17-2004, 11:27 PM Great photo by Kevin. kiska 05-19-2004, 03:26 PM I selected and cut the tiger. Bg painted with very weak blues and greens. Grass painted on own layer. Ran paint daubs, cutout and poster edges on all three separately. Dup. layers and fooled with blends to get 'punch'. I seem to be in a dark blue and yellow/orange rut lately. That's all I can remember. kiska Cheryl H 05-22-2004, 11:07 AM kiska--cool effect that works great with that image. I used the cymk masking http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8242 with impressionist and paint engine. Took a copy of the result into lucis and played a little then blended the results together. Peter S 09-20-2007, 06:25 PM Another blast from the past. I don't know why this didn't get more attention. Been messing with torn edge filter again. Peter Kraellin 09-20-2007, 10:30 PM of all the animal kingdom, i think i like the big cats the best. i did two versions, both based on a filter forge rendition and then separate post work in Paint Shop Pro xi on both. Kraellin 09-20-2007, 11:15 PM had to do one more. this one reminded me of those oil on black velvet paintings and i just couldnt pass it up :) no post work on this one. straight out of filter forge. Steve Conway 09-21-2007, 06:24 AM Beautiful animal. Too bad they are getting more hard to find in the wild. Steve C. palms1 09-21-2007, 07:00 AM In agreement with you all on this one Peter idont understand why it wasnt more popular Craig that one does look like the black velvet paintings And Steve yep extinction really does stink used Mike Warrens emboss glow action on this tiger Palms Swampy 09-21-2007, 08:34 AM I'm with you, Palms. Attached is a crop; here (http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/4563/citigerrestingkevinnh2.jpg)'s the complete rendering (little more then 900K). :) Kraellin 09-22-2007, 10:46 PM i like that, steve. very pencil/pen sketchy Steve Conway 09-23-2007, 09:12 AM i like that, steve. very pencil/pen sketchy I thank you Craig. BTW, here is a link to some good X2 stuff: http://users.adelphia.net/~suzshook/12tips-indexanchors.htm Steve C. Kraellin 09-23-2007, 08:29 PM thanks, steve. i like yours also, lk. mosaics are always fun :) i like yours too, palms. very similar to mine but i think you brought the tiger out better. and dee dee, that's marvelous. thank you :) and susie, though i'm not crazy about the border, i do like the rest. thanks :) sharynideas 09-25-2007, 03:47 AM You guys that use Paint Shop Pro, what do you think of X2? I have a chance to upgrade from PSP8 for a pretty good price, but don't know if I should. Shari carb 09-25-2007, 09:15 PM cloned in artweaver. Shari if you can i would upgrade. carb Kraellin 09-25-2007, 10:53 PM definitely upgrade, shari. if you had 9, 10, or 11, i'd say it's up to you, but anything before 9, upgrade. Kraellin 09-25-2007, 11:25 PM i just really like this picture. so, here's another, this time from a new filter forge filter i'm about finished making. this image helped me make a few final adjustments to the filter. then, off to Paint Shop Pro for a little post work. it's not a typical look, but i sort of like it. Photomaster 09-29-2007, 01:44 AM Buzz Pro, dodge and burn, texture added. Kraellin 10-02-2007, 12:07 AM very nicely done, photomaster! love how you evened out the shadows and removed the blues from them. nice, clean look. sharynideas 10-03-2007, 03:54 AM I was determined to keep track of what I did on this picture, but somewhere in the middle....:dizzy: I do know that I duped the original a couple of times, then ran Xero's lineart filter and merged layers, then I tried out a watercolor tut. Then I lost track, fiddled with color, and heavens knows what else. Finally I added a mask and some texture. Shari |
