View Full Version : Flatten Layers

Okay perhaps I am just brain dead today...

I have an image with several layers and one layer has an inner shadow applied. When I flatten the image the inner shadow disappears...why? I even tried merge vs flatten and I still get the same results. The layer with the inner shadow is the top layer. Any ideas? I am using PhotoShop CS.

THANKS,
~T

I've found that most weird layer filter behavior is caused by viewing at anything other than 100%. Before flattening, zoom to 100% to get a true indication of how the layer effect will look when flattened.
Hope that's all it is!

Thanks Viki...that was basically it...although at 100% what I thought was a good shadow at 25% basically disappeared. Got to remember to view at 100% before going final!

THANKS AGAIN!

Something similar happened to me recently. Adobe explained it to me that zoomed views above 100% are approximations. I wasn't happy to learn this, but just about every book out there tells you to inspect your work at 200%, so I guess this is one of many reasons why.
