I've struggled with this for 2 days, trying to get something a little different. I cannot remember the steps.
Selected seabirds from previous image and added to heron
Filtered each separately, and bg
Various blends
hue/sat
Painter 8 for 3D and canvas texture
Photoshop for apply image and tweaking

Woah kiska - that's trippy.

I finally got my hands on the MS Impressionist and am totally blown away by it. I dont' know how I made this. Reminds me of of a Japanese painting.

kiska--I didn't read your directions and just looked at the pic. I thought I was going nuts seeing birds in the background. :lmao:

Brandon--nicely done--you're going to have fun with impressionist.

I tried 2 different things and then wound up blending them together.

lower layer: buzz gloss stack (all set to around 5 except remove around 400). Select black and invert. Paint image back in with history brush. Impressionist (can't remember which preset)

upper layer: convert to cymk. duplicate black channel and convert back to rgb. load black channel as a selection. impressionist--dirty sketch (a new one I'll post later this week).

blended layers together and added a pattern fill layer in soft light.

Cheryl- I really like this one. Ya'll sure can do some 'stuff' with that Impressionist!

Hello - I was playing around this morning to duplicate yesterdays Impressionist efforts and came pretty close to what I had so here are the settings.

1) Choose the Charcoal default setting
2) Set brush size to 130%, Coverage 90%, Pressure 60%
3) Either use the Paper (under more controls) effect using canvas with a bias setting of 1 or 2 or use the Photoshop texturizer to create the 'painted on canvas' look.

Play with the pressure setting to get the best results with the image you are working with.

Thanks Kiska--I think impressionist addict would be a good title for me. I have to work to remember there's more to photoshop (and my plug-in collection) than impressionist. :grin:
