A LITTLE HISTORY
Just a few years ago, Doug Nelson (webmaster and owner of RetouchPRO) had a dream. It was to develop a site that has evolved into RetouchPRO.

Although RetouchPRO is non-profit site, there are expenses associated with its operation.

SO, GET TO THE POINT ALREADY...
I am asking you to (1) take a few moments to consider the technical and/or entertainment value of RetouchPRO and (2) make a contribution in support of this exceptionally friendly and content rich site.

WHO CAN/SHOULD CONTRIBUTE?
In the past forum regulars have always come through. Your previous contributions have been greatly appreciated and I know you can be counted on for ongoing support.

I'd like to appeal to those who read the tutorials and benefit from forum discussions, but choose to stay on the sidelines (and that's perfectly OK). Although you are among the "silent majority" of the RetouchPRO membership, you, too, can make a significant difference while still maintaining confidentiality.

If you're a complete newbie, it's reasonable for you to pass for the time being. Feel free, however, to jump in now if you're so inclined or sometime in the future. Contributions are welcome anytime.

HOW DO I MAKE A CONTRIBUTION?
It's easy...

Look into your heart and do the right thing. Thanks in advance for your help.

And on behalf of literally thousands, thank you, Doug, for having the dream and making that dream come true.

I always donate in April and October. Don't plan on changing that this year. Unless there's an immediate need for funds, post if that's the case.

It was in my plans to make some contribution but not at the moment, but what the heck now is as good a time as any other. (just don't quit your day job! :clown: )

Yes, I'm overdue for another donation...thanks for the reminder Danny. Goes without saying, that I wouldn't be where I am now had it not been for RetouchPro and all who contribute.

THANK YOU SINCERELY ONE AND ALL AND ESPECIALLY TO DOUG NELSON!!!

Yes, thank you for the reminder Danny.

When you pay in the $40+ range for a good Photoshop book, the amount of info you can get here makes this place priceless!

I tell you, I've never been committed to a site like this one. I've learned a lot since I became a member here. I like the idea of keeping this an AD-FREE site. Thanks Doug.

Thank you for the kind words and offer to support the site. As a matter of fact the annual "June - fund raiser campaign" is about to launch, so if you want to hold off a couple of weeks until then, no problem.

I hope you enjoy your time at RetouchPRO and learn a lot.

See you on the forums.

I'm a firm beleiver in supporting the few forums that I visit/contribute to daily. Although I'm a newb for the most part here... that shouldn't stop me or any other newb from feeling this is the right thing to do. Thanks for the quality Doug. This is evolving to become one of the best sites on the web.

If its not too impolite to ask, how much does it cost to run these forums for a year? (on average)
Our car's just been written off and we're saving for a house but I got an extra bonus this month (well did extra freelance) and I'd like to make a donation.

It's not impolite, and I've answered it in the past. But due to controversy generated by revealing my budget I'm not going to do it anymore. Suffice it to say I'm greatful for every donation, no matter how small. And every dollar donated will go towards maintenance and expansion. But even if you can't afford $1 (or don't think it's worth it) you can also help by coming up with challenge and contest ideas and photos, answering questions, writing tutorials, and a hundred other things that mean every bit as much.

Happy to contribute, but I think the Amazon link is broken in post 1 -- Message is

<<
Honor System Pay Page not Available

The pay page you're attempting to find does not exist or is not available.

S. Horton, I think Doug did away with the Amazon program when he began the new Patron program -- details here (taken from Danny Rapheal's tagline in his post above).

Support RetouchPRO: - look under Patron FAQ here:
http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/faq.php

From the FAQs:"So how do I buy a subscription? There's a link in your User CP. It will take you to the Paypal site, where you can pay. Your subscription information is instantly and automatically updated."

"So what do I get for paying? The primary reason for buying a subscription is to keep our lights on here. However, to say "thank you" for subscribing, the following benefits are offered:
A "Patron" tag under your name in every forum post
Larger Gallery space
Forum attachment size doubled
You won't see any banner ads in the forums"
