How much should a sales person get for selling computer artwork? I mean someone who gets only a percentage of the sell, not a salary.

Thanks.

I would need more info before I could start on an estimate.

How is the product being sold? From your store, or his? or none?

How involved is the person in the sale, someone walks in and points at the product or the salesperson persues the sale and brings in the client?

How many sales do you expect this salesperson to make? Is this their main sales or just a part?

Thanks for the reply. Well basically is :

"Me makes web sites, you go get some clients." :D

It's web sites, photo retouching, multimedia, etc. In fact, more related to design than artwork as I posted . The jobs are basically for individuals and small businesses and the selling price ranges between 300 - 1000 $.

Firstly, I'd run away screaming from any offer like that :)

But realistically, you'd deserve 50% considering the amount of time and effort you'd need to put in. You'd be essentially a partner.

I've done both, the work he wants you to do is harder.

I would have to agree, a 50% commission would be about right if they are bringing the clients and you are doing all the coding.

We run a small art gallery with a storefront and get 50% of the purchase price. Big time galleries traditionally get 60%.
