Just thought I would share this pic. I really liked how it turned out.

Did the restoration, and then added the additional effect.

Unfortunately compression takes a little away, but you can still get the idea :)

I really like that extra effect. Kinda modernizes the pic but doesn't detract from it.

very neat way to get the distracting building out of the pic.
Great effect!

What purpose do your added effects have? It depends on there context - but it makes sense for breakouts to show complete edges/objects unless they bleed off the page. Also the grass visible through the lattice is also distracting as it reveals a space behind which should be the canvass (leading the viewer to wonder what else is missing from the picture).

As for the picture frame effect - why do so many people here add frames to their pictures. If you've done a good job restoring a pic, why not print it out and put it in a REAL period frame?

very nicely done out-of-bound effect, but i have to agree w/ magic_dot on the grass visible through the lattice - it kinda looks like there's a "wallpaper" on that bridge... IMO, if the frame were visible through the lattice, and outside there's been just canvas visible, it might've looked better... (but on the other hand, might'd be a bit too "empty"?)

'nyways, good work!

I did it for fun :) No other reason.

I liked it with the grass still showing through the lattice, so I left it like that.

Each to their own :)
