HELP! Okay, maybe I'm missing something. I'm trying to print 13x19 inch prints, but my Epson 1280 stops before the prints are finished. Now the display showed the full print in the boundary field, so I'm not sure what's up.

First time I set-up as user defined.
It printed 13 inches and stopped (should have gone 19). Image is in landscape format and was set-up that way.

Second time I used preset Super B 13x19. This time it stopped at 16 inches. :bawling:

IDEAS!

Are you on a Mac? From Epson's site:

Q: A portion of my image doesn't print when I'm printing from my Macintosh.
A: Your system may not have enough available memory. Close any other applications you are running and turn off background printing. You may need to increase the memory allocation for your application, the EPSON Status Monitor3, or both.

I'm a PC. Just finished reading their support and got no answers. I ran their trouble shooting wizard and it didn't help. Also sent them an email to see if they could help.

Hmmm...under advanced properties, do you have it set to spooled or print directly? You might try switching to the other, however it's set.

I have 205 GB of free space no other programs running and Pentium 4 with 2GB of DDR SDRAM at 400 MHz. I am running XP and the file I am trying to print is 346.6 MB.

Hmmm, I have it set to spool...going to try to switch to print directly and keep my fingers crossed!

AHHHHHH...no good. Stopped printing again at 16 inches! This is getting painful. 5 bad 13x19 inch prints!

Just got Epson's response to my email. WOW that was fast. They had several suggestions including Doug's print directly. I have sent them a reply explaining that printing directly doesn't work either. This is very frustrating. For grins I am going to reboot and try again...in economy mode on the used paper to see if it will go the distance as I wait for other suggestions.

Make sure you have "borderless" printing checked if you are trying to print a full 13x19 and that you are on a paper that allows for borderless printing (such as glossy photo)

Thanks Noel. I do have borderless checked and even if I didn't I shouldn't be left with 3 inches on one side. I have since flattened the image. That dropped the file size to 61 MB. I have also shrunk the image by 90% so it is well within the page size and it always leaves the last 2 inches of the photo off...no matter if there's 3 inches to 8 inches of paper left...the photo will never be complete. Now I have printed this out as a test image as an 8x10 so could it have something to do with the 13x19 file size?

Still looking for answers. I have 4 wedding collages I need to print and so far my printer is not being helpful.

THANKS

Epson got back and suggested I create a blank file with a simple object at either end and print to see if it is a file size issue. Well I printed my simple file and the second object did not make it. For some reason the last 3 or so inches seem non existant. I've tried using predefined paper size as well as user defined and my printer refuses to believe there is anything longer than 16 inches.....

IDEAS?

Still trying to figure this out. Sheet mode won't print anything beyond 16 inches. Banner or roll mode does better but it leads with an inch margin so I lose a lot of space....collages set-up with 1/2 border.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer software and drivers. I've made sure I have the latest updates too.

Grasping at straws here, but I don't use Epson's own driver and monitor software. It gives me comm problems. I use the drivers supplied with WinXP and it works a lot better for me. Tried uninstalling all the Epson stuff and running detect hardware?

What port are you running the printer from? USB? Is there a hub involved? Perhaps trying without it. Maybe try parallel. If parallel, try USB?

USB...no hub.

I'll try uninstalling and let XP do its thing.

I've printed up to 14" prints in the past with no problems. It seems to be this size. I was wondering if it could be a PhotoShop thing, as it appears Epson's Film factory might print 18 inches of the 19. Still testing.

If it's a PS thing, that's easy to test. Make a TIF format test image like you did before, close it, rightclick on its icon and select Print. Windows will print it without using any editing software.

Still does same thing. Darn.

Finally!!!! I got a full print without a portion of the image being cut off. I have been emailing the Epson Support Service and I must admit I am very impressed with their promptness.

What finally seemed to have worked is uninstalling the Epson drivers and software, disconnecting the printer, turning off the printer, and reinstalling the dirvers and Monitor 3 software and letting the computer plug-n-play from scratch.

Thanks to all that offered help. It was a very frustrating process!

Glad you finally got it all sorted out, but sorry you had to go through all that.

The trials of printing. I figured it was something simple and most likely something that had corrupted. It was just frustrating to see everything in the print preview window and have the printer not fully print the image no matter how much I shrunk it.

With all the horrible customer service I have dealt with this week on various issues as well as heard stories through others, it was so nice to see that Epson does support right.
