Richard,
Way back in the March newsletter you mentioned the future availability of several new text handling tools. I could really use them, have you released them yet? If not, when might you propose to do so? Would you like a beta tester for them?
Cheers,
Stephen

Thanks for the offer. I took on a little too much work over the summer (when I was supposed to take on NONE), and ended up starting a re-write on the HPPE book too! There is one other really BIG project in the works as well. I have the text tool mostly done, but it waits for other deadlines to pass.

I really needed the text tools last trimester for my digital photography class. I do as much work as possible on my computer using PSE2 because, with my schedule at the time, it was inconvient to get to the computer lab.
Our Final Project for the trimester was a CD cover, using our original photographs. Of course the cover had text elements on it also.
I'm a Photography Technology major in the Visual Communications school at Oklahoma State University - Okmulgee, Okmulgee Oklahoma. Okmulgee is about 40 miles south of Tulsa, Ok. The Photography Technology program here is excellent. By the time we graduate from the program we will have been exposed to the equivalent of ten years of working as a photographer. My current interest is commercial studio product photography, I have falled in love with the 4x5 view camera, but I also have an interest in Photojournalism.
Since photography is moving into the digital age, the program also has a strong emphasis on digital photography and digital image processing. We use Nikon D100 cameras, PowerMacs (OS-X), Photoshop CS, and Quark Express. The program is moving to the Adobe page layout program, whose name escapes me at the moment (InDesign?), to the exclusion of Quark.
I eagerly await the new text tools.
