i've done some research on graphics tablets...
it seems that aiptek is the most "economical"
but it is really scarce in canada...
i am looking for a new tablet

i found 8000U at
http://www.legendmicro.com/store/more_info.asp?Product_ID=3727&OpenTreeBranches=0&SortBy=0

for $ 89.21 USD + shipping $20.99 USD(about 1/4 of the tablet :depressed )

and it is not refundable...

does anyone know where else i can go, in canada, to purchase an Aiptek tablet???

thank you!!!

Cheap ain't necessarily economical! I'd go for a Wacom Graphire myself for a budget solution. I've read some pretty poor reports on the Aiptek tablets. It's no coincidence that pros almost universally use Wacom products. I have a Graphire 2 myself and love it.
Edit to add: I tried one out and particularly disliked the extra weight that the battery added to the pen. Of course YMMV!

This is prolly a tad too late for your info, but this is my very post here. :wavey:

I've found two places to get them Aiptek tablets. One is basically right next door to where I live, area code wise that is. The other is the Aiptek site itself. The manufacturer site got a good deal on a 'refurbished' 12000U which included TWO pens (one new, one 'slightly used'), a new mouse, extended warranty and even a FREE watch! Can't pass that up, right? Shipping to Canada shouldn't cost that much more either.

... Kinda. I did order it 3 days ago and the shipment is going to be delayed due to some cc info snafu. Let's hope I get it before I change my mind and get myself a new Midi Keyboard instead. :tongue:

2. http://aiptek.com/

PS. Here's another site for ya.

3. http://www.axiontech.com/ - - - Direct shortcut to the tablet page -> Tablets (http://www.axiontech.com/subcat.php?cat=HARDWARE&sub1=COMPONENTS&sub2=POINTING%20DEVICES&sub3=GRAPHIC%20TABLET&PHPSESSID=bf308c73ed52e991f388f4892aed1f4a)

This one got bot Aiptek and Wacom products to choose from.

I'd still get them Aiptek directly from the manu site though.
