my try didn't turn out the way i wanted it, but... well, yeah, i'm also not sure why i post it :lol: :pirate:

I added some two tone dots to the background using paintbrush/vangogh in PSP8.01 (dissolve). Then applied Artistic brush effect (Brush emboss)

This one got sepia toned, then paint engine inline filter, then adjusted the contrast. Was going to do more with it, but I like it this way.

On mine...
* Applied Levels adjustment layer to get back some detail
* Created a new layer and Alt + Merge Visible
* Used Select > Color Range to select shadow areas
* Added a new layer
* With a chalk brush, painted over selected shadow areas using various shades of medium green
* Created a new layer and Alt + Merge Visible
* Did some flower reconstruction with the Clone tool
* Named this layer "Base"
* Duplicated Base
* Applied Impressionist Chalk: Detailed Opaque Strokes
* Applied Photoshop Unsharp Mask to give the layer some texture
* Moved Base to top of layer stack and Layer > Add Layer Mask > Hide all
* Set foreground color to white and airbrushed in a little detail in the flower
