I was just wondering what the general rule for retouching is. What I mean by that is if I'm working on a sacnned 3 x 5 photo, how much should I zoom in to fix stuff. If I zoom in 800% I see so many small imperfections that people would never see on a 3 x 5 print. So as I said is there a gerneral rule for how much you should enlarge before starting to work on a print. Also what happens if I want to print this 3 x 5 to 8 x 10? How much to zoom and fix then?

Thanx

Other this this forum are there any other good PS or restoration forums?

I never zoom up that high.

I'll go 2-300% for basic work, and sometimes 400% for details. But like you are seeing 800% isn't going to be very useful normally.

As for other sites, this is definitely the most popular I personally have found :)
