It's a white flag iris from Leu Botnaical Garden in Orlando, FL. Like with the first attempt, I used scans of flower postage stamps from around the world.

Mosaic Creator is obviously a European product. The sizes are ISO "A" and "B" sizes with the exception of "Letter" size.

I print A4 and A3.

They look even better in print, because I generate 240 dpi TIFFs. I then move them to Photoshop CS, where I convert them from sRGB to AdobeRGB (my scans of stamps from around the Web are jpegs) and increase the resolution to 380 dpi for printing with ImagePrint Lite.

I just registered the product. So, I will redo the rose. I am going to produce a series for display. I'll probably also offer a series of 3 smaller prints (signed and numbered, of course).

I like doing creative interpretations like these.

The flag iris is a nice print in its own right without a photo mosaic. (You can see it on my home page temporarily -- http://www.thelightsrightstudio.com). The rose is a useful example for tutorials but, let's face it, it is rather trite. There's nothing fresh in yet another picture of an emerging rose blossom. The photo mosaic is fresh, especially when the cells are images of flower postage stamps.

I am not a fan of Princess Diana, being too much of a left-wing Laborite for such medieval pomp. But there are a gazillion Princess Diana stamps. So, I am working on a Princess Diana image from an oil portrait that uses Princess Diana postage stamps for the cells. I expect it will be quite popular (IOW, marketable). ;)

Getting the various images for the cells is very tedious. The more you have, the better. Especially if you do not allow Mosaic Creator to colorize your images. But, who said art was without tediousness?!
