All summer long I've patiently waited for the WOW shot to enter in this year's county fair. I think I made it with this entry. Please give me feedback. This is my first ever fair entry in the photography category.

You did it. WOW! Nice shot. I know what it's like to wait for a shot. Good luck, you should try some other contests with it too.

The only "special" was that I sat and sat and clicked and clicked for days and days. I FINALLY got smart and began using the camera set at a 1000th of a second, which still isn't fast enough for these little dive bombers.

Great shot Janet, it must have taken great patience and perseverance to get it.

IMHO it would have been better if the bird had not been looking direct into the lens, and if there had been a little more motion blur on the wings, to give the photo a feeling of movement.

Great shot! My only concern would be that once your initials are taken out again the bottom right hand corner may be too empty and unbalance the picture? But I'm trying to imagine that while your initials are there, so I may be imagining things...

I have some out of focus leaves I could stick in that corner as if the little bird were lighting in something alive rather than the dead tree branch. Would that work?
