Ok guys and gals I need some creative help - my juices are dried up from the "day job".

I am designing my own wedding announcement in standard postcard format. The theme is autumn/country. Country as in "out in the country" not as in "country western" It is going to be a very casual affair with BBQ catered in for the reception. I need some ideas of imagery for this invite. I know I want autumn leaves, but how do I work in the country aspect. My fiancee is wearing a western hat and jeans...LOL, but I am looking for more of that "Man from Snowy River" look verses the Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Hee-Haw, Rhinestones, etc. look.

Ideas? I can design things for anybody but myself!

Wedding planning... did I ever enjoy that when I got married. I made everything myself, from party favor tags to digital wedding album book... was so much fun. Anywho ;)

What I see in my mind when I think country in the fall is a road, leafs on the ground, rows of trees on each sides and fog early in the morning with the sun starting to shine through the tree...

I also see a stream of water in a field, a few hills and with sparse trees. Maybe a horse or two standing close to eachother.

I also see an apple orchard with an old wooden bucket and an old ladder leaning up against an old tree...

I'm in dreamland now, miss the country!

Hope this helps.
All the best!

:)

Take two wagon wheels and interlock them to symbolize the rings that you two will be exchanging :)

Country? Ropes, saddles, hay, barns, cowboy hats, old boots, bandanas, tractors (old), wildflowers such as ox-eye daisies, narrow country roads, old pickups. Need me to go on? LOL

BTW, congratulations on the wedding!!!

Why not embroider your invitation as a country sampler, then take it to a print shop where they can photograph it and reproduce it on a card? If you know a skilled graphic designer, they may also be able to recreate the stitched sampler look. (http://weddings.about.com/cs/bridesandgrooms/a/Country.htm)

And we have an embroidery Challenge somewhere.
