Hello ppl,

I'm trying to get my hands on a copy of "Photoshop Channel Chops" (ISBN: 1562057235). But it doesnt seem to be very easy to get your hands of this book. Does any one know where I can buy a copy of it? There is a used copy for sale at Amazon but I find that 120$ is a bit too much...
Im located in Sweden so I need some place that support international shipping.
Thanks for the help!

Jonas

Not sure why the Amazon ones are so high as I found many in the $20s. There do appear to be two different dates for this book 1997 and 1998.

The site below is one example of a 1997 version and offers international shipping:

PeachPit: Photoshop Channel Chop (http://www.peachpit.com/title/1562057235)

PeachPit:
Paperback, $39.99
ISBN: 1562057235; Published: Dec 24, 1997; Copyright 1997;
Dimensions 7.38 X 9.125 ; Pages: 240; Edition: 1st.

Pros
• reveals advanced techniques of the pros
• authors use humor to address complex subjects
• provides useful background information

Cons
• some portions are outdated
• not for beginners
• could be confusing if unfamiliar with old versions

The Bottom Line - First published in 1997, a good portion of this classic book for advanced Photoshop techniques is still relevant today. Primarily of interest to those looking to perfect masking and composting skills.

Amazon's
Paperback: 226 pages ; Dimensions (in inches): 0.51 x 9.16 x 7.39
Publisher: New Riders Publishing; 1st edition (January 1, 1998)
ISBN: 1562057235

Wow! I bought this really easily two years ago -- I had no idea it had become so difficult to find!

Anyhow...

Reiter's (http://www.reiters.com/index.cgi?f=p&ISBN=1562057235) claim to have it for US$39.99

Amazon.ca marketplace (http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/tg/detail/offer-listing/-/1562057235/new/701-3224041-1605967) claims to have it for CDN$52.67

Blackwell's (US) (http://bookshop.blackwell.com/bobus/scripts/home.jsp?action=search&type=isbn&term=1562057235) claims to have it for US$43.99

I don't know about shipping on any of those. There aren't any copies on Abebooks or Alibris.

Peachpit does look like the best bet.

Thanx for the help.
I found it at PeachPit a month ago but they do not accept my creditcards for some strange reason. Tried both my VISA and MC. They still don't like 'em...

I ordered it from Rieters which looked to be working fine except I didn't get info about the shipping cost... Can they be trusted? I have not heard of them before.

Got this reply from Reiters:

Thank you for your order. Unfortunately the book that you requested is not currently in stock. I checked with the publisher to see if the book is available and they now list it as “indefinitely out of stock” so that we cannot obtain a copy for you.

I have cancelled your order and your credit card will not be charged.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

It's crazy! If it weren't such a good book I'd offer you my copy... but sadly it is such a good book and no one else is getting their hands on it...

The only thing that occurs is that maybe they are planning a new edition to go along with new versions of Photoshop and that's why the old edition has been allowed to go out of print? It might be worth contacting the publisher to see if that is the case.

Jonas, The is a brand new book released a few weeks ago called The Photoshop Channels Book by Scott Kelby and also published by Peachpit Press but is is now widely available through all the major book retailers. It has a lot of useful and upto date techniques regarding Channel blending and masking. However, I do not have Channel Chops so I can't tell you how it compares.
