I really like the effect of fading out the edges of a photo, especially in collages, but I can't figure out how to do it.

Is there a tutorial for it somewhere?

Hi Amy,

you could try selecting and strongly feathering the parts you'd like to fade and decrease their Opacity ....

Amy, I like using a layer mask...fill it with white and paint with black on the mask using a large soft brush on the edges you want to "disappear." You can use this technique with all the pictures in your collage if you want. Hope this helps!

As an add on to FrannyMae's suggestion, if the fade in is not gradual enough, apply Gaussian Blur to the mask.
