Ah, what it must be like to be young and partying. Tell you the truth I'm glad those years are behind me... far, far behind me. :)

Something a little funky rendered with an action I wrote "ART-Leroy Like" available below.

Sometimes mindless is just easier. :)

That's beautifully done Danny!
Is the action on PS only or with additional plugins(like impress....)

Here's my "art-leroy style", but without using danny's action. I used a sketch layer, fill colors on blank layers, various blends and impressionist filter.

Hi Manju:

Thank you for the kind words.

The action is native Photoshop filters...no Impressionist, Buzz or anything else. Should work fine on your Mac!

This seemed the perfect photo to try a tutorial in the July/August issue of PhotoshopUser Magazine.

Used channel mixer to create a high contrast B&W, then used a threshhold AL to see the main components. On a copy of the background, used burn to bring back some details, and dodge to lighten some areas while looking at "line drawing" layer.

Then it was paint by the numbers, using the main colors from the original. I used the halftone filter on the skin.

Great tutorial, fun effect!

Very nicely done, Franny Mae. Seems like a good magazine to have. Must check it out.

Something I learned recently on the dpr Retouching Forum

Make two copy of the background layer
On the top one set Mode to Difference
Gausian Blur (set to 9)

Merge Down

On the top layer again set Mode to Difference

Merge down

Do USM (100, 15, 0)

We're all having fun with this one!

Just duped a couple of original layers, ran Adaptive Equalization (the free Photoshop plug-in from Reindeer Graphics - http://www.reindeergraphics.com/free.shtml#adapteq ) to bring out some of the texture detail on the bottom copy with a layer mask to paint back the smoothness of the couple's skin only, ran Graphic Pen on the top duped layer, set layer blend mode to Overlay, added a layer mask and painted in (low opacity - 5%) a bit of the skin tones on each - not enough to make it photographic again.

Pulled out an old thread to play with today...
Corel Painter cloning + ps7 sketch layer.

I was attracted to the bright colours of this one at first, and then became stumped so here are two difernet versions. I tinkered with one of dannys action and then tried a illustrated look ? well sort of :)

Cool action Danny; will give it a whirl later. More in the mood of wc/illustration today (but not too Pop). :)
