Just a quick correction. Over here it would be called a Railway station.

And I hope people don't think this is what they are like now.

sometimes I wish they are like this now. Brings back old memories!

I mean, it has trains and everything! And no angry commuters who've been waiting an hour for their train because of the wrong kind of leaves (or my personal favourite "this train has been delayed due to late running"). Certainly very little resemblance to a modern UK station... :grin:

There are some discussions around this site on the subject "Is this art?" etc...
One point generally agreed on is that when you start with a photo that doesn't say much to anyone and change it to provoke some sort of 'feeling'....
Well, I took one look at your interpretation and my immediate feeling was "That's it! That's the way I (want to) remember an old railway station".

Manjumena, how did you do that? Beautiful.

My interpretation is buzz, impressionist, VP oil and playing with contrast and saturation.

The second one is an abstract railway station.

Tried to create a feeling of movement.

On this one I did the following:
1. Buzzed
2. Add a watercolor texture paper that I have in overlay.

For the sake of happy memories I just had to give this one a go too....can't recall exact steps. I discovered though that before Buzzing an image, try embossing it first. I got more detail as a result. Duped this layer, dodge, GB 15, lowered opacity??? Merged and duped again, then applied
PSP8.01 Artistic Effects / Blurred Blockin ? with a lowered opacity.
