Just another day at the station...
| View Full Version : Creative interpretations: Trains - UK Railroad Station DannyRaphael 09-21-2004, 10:01 PM Just another day at the station... Gary Richardson 09-22-2004, 02:16 AM Just a quick correction. Over here it would be called a Railway station. Xaran 09-22-2004, 03:19 AM And I hope people don't think this is what they are like now. Christine Manjumena 09-22-2004, 04:19 AM sometimes I wish they are like this now. Brings back old memories! Leah 09-22-2004, 06:39 AM I mean, it has trains and everything! And no angry commuters who've been waiting an hour for their train because of the wrong kind of leaves (or my personal favourite "this train has been delayed due to late running"). Certainly very little resemblance to a modern UK station... byRo 09-22-2004, 09:46 AM Brings back old memories! There are some discussions around this site on the subject "Is this art?" etc... One point generally agreed on is that when you start with a photo that doesn't say much to anyone and change it to provoke some sort of 'feeling'.... Well, I took one look at your interpretation and my immediate feeling was "That's it! That's the way I (want to) remember an old railway station". Thank you so much for this work of art. Roland ahutton 09-22-2004, 06:14 PM Manjumena, how did you do that? Beautiful. My interpretation is buzz, impressionist, VP oil and playing with contrast and saturation. The second one is an abstract railway station. AmyHutton jaykita 09-23-2004, 05:05 AM Tried to create a feeling of movement. rlspencer1 09-26-2004, 04:40 PM On this one I did the following: 1. Buzzed 2. Add a watercolor texture paper that I have in overlay. Thanks Bob Neve 10-02-2004, 05:03 AM For the sake of happy memories I just had to give this one a go too....can't recall exact steps. I discovered though that before Buzzing an image, try embossing it first. I got more detail as a result. Duped this layer, dodge, GB 15, lowered opacity??? Merged and duped again, then applied PSP8.01 Artistic Effects / Blurred Blockin ? with a lowered opacity. Have a good day. Ann 10-02-2004, 08:50 AM Hope this works..my first post. Done in Elements 2, buzzed first, then used underpainting, watercolour and photocopy filters finishing off with some curves and levels and hue adjustments. This is fun.
