You can modify .atn files with a Hex editor (like the free one that can be downloaded here: http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/), but not by using anything like a word processing program or text editor like Notepad. What's the scope/nature of the problem you're trying to solve? ~Danny~ frate 09-26-2004, 06:54 PM Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to translate a few actions for use with Corel PhotoPaint...or approximate the action. Regards, Dean Dean: Your idea is a good one and your heart's in the right place. A form of it has been implemented by Adobe. Programs written in what's known as JavaScript can run under Windows Photoshop as well as the Mac version of Photoshop, but not Photoshop and PhotoPaint. It would be very cool if Adobe and Corel could become friends in that regard, but that's not likely anytime soon. Photoshop actions and their PhotoPaint equivalents are (file format-wise) apples and oranges. While you may be able come pretty close to recreating an effect created in Photoshop (by an action) in PhotoPaint, you would have to do so by independently recording the steps in PP. This would normally require one to have PP and PS installed on the same machine (which I did at one time) and knowledge of both so you could go back and forth between them while engaged in the translation/recording process. Good luck with PhotoPaint. It's a very capable and feature rich program. ~Danny~ |
