This is my very first post on this forum and I'd like to start with some feedback of my restoration work. It can be viewed at:

These are all done for the web (all of the black and white images were obtained from the web) so the image quality is only 72dpi. What do you think?

You have a good basis going there. But a majority of the pictures are darker than they should be.

Work on your shadow areas, and how to bring out the highlights more and you will see a very decent picture.

I agree that the shadows do seem a bit deep images 1, 3, 5 and 6, but generally they look quite good.

Now find some basket cases (there are plenty of them in the restoration forums here) and start doing the hard stuff. :-)

For me, the older images have too much contrast...the shadows are too dark, and the highlights are too bright. If you check your shadows and highlights, you will see that there is a loss of detail compared to the original.
I like what you've done with the color corrections on the more recent photos.

After you have worked on your levels and gotten them to the stages your pictures are in for the post, lighten up a bit with the middle slider to restore some of the shadow detail. Color correction on the couple was a bit pink on my monitor; but other than those two things, you are treading down the right path.

On my monitor, some of your shadow detail is in the 3 to 5 range which is too low. While not perfect, here's one example where I lightened and balanced the shadows. A lot more detail is pulled out.. you do however need to mask the skin and reduce the cyan.

Thank you very much for the helpful feedback! I will definitely rework these according to your suggestions, and I will re-post them.
