Thanks Danny. It certainly looks interesting. I noticed that Shan Canfield is one of the contributors.

I just found a sample chapter (http://www.peachpit.com/title/0735712794#) . Have fun. It's about layer masks. Just click on the link near the top of the page.

Thanks Danny, one for the Christmas Stocking I think. Thanks Ed for the chapter link, unfortunately 34 pages of PDF just takes too long on dial up.

Yeah, it's a big file. It wasn't anywhere near fast with DSL!

A pretty pricey book.

I think it was worth it though. I have just gotten through 3 chapters and have already picked up some quality nuggets of information. And I haven't even gotten to the difficult stuff yet. I am always amazed at how many different ways there are to do things in Photoshop.

Katrin is a very good writer in that she is easy to read. I have her retouching book also and just like her writing style. The website for the book is also very helpful in filling in some of the blanks and providing practice images.

I'm with Jeff L, pricey, but well worth it.

I, too, am slowly working my way through it.

I found her explanation and examples for coming to grips with the pen tools especially helpful. Now I'm not as afraid of it as I had been once I started using her examples and following the tutorials.

I treated myself to a copy for my birthday - someone has to buy me something other than the usual socks, T-shirts etc
