Upgraded from Elements 2 to CS. After undocking the pallets I cannot move those around within the Work Area, unless I doubleclick somewhere in the View Window. This stands only untill the very next adjustment I make or selection of either one of the tools, after which the undocked palettes cannot be dragged again. I would appreciate if anyone could let me know if there is a way to work around this problem (Win XP Prof SP2 - 1GB Ram).

Regards,
Hans

Hello Hans,

Welcome aboard. I'm replying just in case you don't get another reply. I have absolutely no idea what would cause it to act that way, but when things don't work the way they should, it is usually a good idea to delete the preferences file. When you start Photoshop again, it will be rebuilt, so it's not something to be afraid of doing.

I've also found that sometimes when things don't work properly, if I close Photoshop, then restart it, the problem disappears. Good luck.

Hello Ed,

Thank you for your reply. I followed your instructions, but unforunately the probem still exists. Meanwhile I informed the Adobe technical support team about the issue. Let's wait and see what they think about it.

Hans
