I think you did a *very* good job on this one. It looked a little flat to me, but the repair was excellent. I punched up the contrast with a curves adjustment layer, and it looked better, but it seemed just a little yellow for my taste. So I sampled the color from the shirt, and filled an empty layer with that color. Then it was inverted, and changed the blending mode to color, with the opacity lowered until it looked good. Others will probably do a better job than I did. Ed Gary Richardson 11-29-2004, 02:49 AM Hi Dasail, Welcome to RP. It is a little difficult to see detail in your restore as the images are quite small. Try posting one about 800 pix wide. But as Ed has said, it looks a competent repair. I also agree about the yellowish tint to the pictures. Vikki 11-29-2004, 05:39 AM The repair work looks excellent (you might want to do a bit more work on the bridge of his nose where there is a shadow). The problem I see here is, that you've lost the sharpness of the original. I would suggest you layer this "finished" image, over the original, and add a layer mask to hide all of your finished work. Then, on the mask, paint out ONLY the damaged areas. This is a more time consuming process, but will give you much better results. Regarding the yellowing. Unless you want to keep the original "aged" look, save yourself some work and just convert the entire image to grayscale, sepia, or a duotone. dasailr03 11-29-2004, 04:21 PM Thanks for all the comments. Much appreciated!!! I'm going to try all the suggestions. :wavey: |
