I've posted all over the internet and can't seem to get any help. Please help me get some tips on how to crop my photo to fit this awesome template and what's the best process. I use PS7, do I copy and paste? Do I drag a layer over to the template...both work, but not the right size and I am just a beginner.

Please attach subject photo. That should make the helping easier.

If I read the question correctly, you have a photo that you want to crop to fit into a template.

Try opening the template and do Image>Image Size. That will tell you the size to crop the photo to. Then using the crop tool you can crop the photo to the correct size or at least the right height to width ratio. Then Image Size again and enter the increase or decrease to get you to the matching size. You may have to re-sample.

Then use the Move tool to drag the photo onto the template. If you hold the shift key while moving the pix it will register centered in the template.

I hope this at least starts you in the right direction. I actually told you how I would approach the problem but like you I have little experience in doing this.

I'll bet it isn't long before somebody a lot more experienced will set us both on the right course.

I haven't even gotten that far, will be using a different image for each month and was just playing around with some that I still had in a folder.

I look in each of the layers included in the calendar and they all say one size, the size of the whole document. Maybe an answer will come, I usually can figure this kind of thing out myself...getting past my bed time...ha ha

Hi zip022,

I had a go at Trimoon's calendar with your picture... You just need time and patience .... Trimoon's calender is so great and flexible that let's you change everything in it!!!!

I dragged your picture on the calender ...
Using the 'Move' Tool, (Show Bounding Box checked) keeping the shift key pressed to maintain the proportions, I pulled the 'handles' until your picture had nearly filled the given space for it.

Repeated the procedure (without shift key) on the various Layers to adapt the 'body' of the calender perfectly around your picture ....

Still using the Move Tool (Auto Select Layer checked), I nudged the days' numbers into their squares.

I even added a gradient to the background...

My attachment is very compressed and reduced in size to accomodate the size limit allowed here...

Which color management tool is best for Trimoon's template, when it opens it gives you 3 choices. Is there a reason why, when I drop my image in it's in black & white? I feel utterly stupid, but determined to get this down.

If you're using Photoshop, check to make sure your Image -> Mode is set to RGB Color.

... sorry for getting back to you late ....

To solve your problem, as CJ suggested, make sure that the image you want to insert is RGB and when the 'Embedded Profile Mismatch' window opens, check the 'Use embedded Profile' option. (see attachment)

I got a 'Missing Font' warning message as well .... If you get it as well, just click OK .... and you'll be invited to find a substitute Font among the ones installed on your computer.
