I had some strange thought processes (or maybe the absence thereof) on this one. It seemed like "Sunday Morning Sidewalk" to me, and then it decided it wanted to be a mural on the side of the building. Probably all due to the graffiti on that yellow door.
Anyway, all I ended up using were Amphisoft and brick texture.

Ok. Let me see....
I duped the BG.
Ran Glowing Edges, and faded to Soft Light I think. Probably played with Opacity.
Then ran Solarize.
Duped the BG again and stuck it on top.
Ran High Pass. changed layer to Soft Light. Inverted that layer.
Stamped Visible.
Ran Extrude and faded to Soft Light.
Ran Extrude again and faced to Soft Light again.
Stuck a Curves layer on top and set it to Screen to lighten the pic,
Then stamped visible and ran glowing edges again and Faded it to Lighten and lower Opcaity.
I think that's it.

I like the range of submissions so far -- mural, color contrasts, outlines... The colors grabbed my attention first, although I decided to change the wall color (with Select Color); I reduced the tourist's shadow somewhat, and then used Sketch-->Stamp before applying the Cutout filter to further abstract the person's features. I added a texture layer with Craquelure and reduced its effect with a layer mask to bring back the vividness of the door color as well as some of the other details.

Had fun playing with this one.
Curves for color change using layer masks, cut out layer, bw layer -virtual photographer, amphisoft- simplifier, vpainter- triangle (this has a range of effects), all diff blends.

Very creative ideas going on here. I especially like glickster's interpretation. Amazing what you can do with just the photoshop filters. I also like C.J.s where it looks like the 'tourist' is a mural coming to life.

Mine is mostly a recomposition. I wanted to emphasize the door with the graffiti. After reconstructing the image, I duplicated the background, and ran fresco and palette knife on it. Finished by lowering opacity.

rlspencer1 - Right after I posted, I saw that you put your own up just before me. I was astonished to see you cropped your image in a near mimic of mine. Much better composition this way don't you think? Great minds...
