Hi all. I'm learning photoshop v6 so I can restore family photographs from the 1800s. I got this version free from a friend who upgraded to the latest version. Found reviews for Eismann's book and sounds like just what I'm looking for, however in searching for the smallest monetary outlay, I discovered several different publishers for the first edition, and some are listed as part of the "Macintosh Library". Since my OS is Windows, I don't want a book based on the Mac OS.
My question is... is there two different versions with the same ISBN number (ISBN 0789723182) ???
Several estores are selling the Que publisher's version for just over $20, however Amazon is selling publisher "Pearson Education" for over $30. I realize this is a great deal from the cover price, but still looking for the best deal.
Thanks,
Julie

Aside from a couple of errata corrections I believe they are the same. The publishing industry is undergoing a massive consolidation, with big companies purchasing small ones. So the cover logo changes, but not the content.

But just to be sure you might want to drop her an email. She answers them all (but it might take a week or so).

Thanks for replying. Actually, I did write Katrin and I think she misunderstood my message as she referred to the first edition that Amazon is selling (the one w/blue cover) ... as this was the one covering photoshop 6. I think she was thinking about the difference between the first and second editions.
I figure she's super busy and didn't want to bother her again, so thought I'd leave this message here to see if anyone may know.
I'll probably just wait and get a copy that isn't from the Macintosh Library for my birthday in March.

Well, the first version used Macs for the screenshots and Katrin wasn't particularly Windows-savvy. Adding Windows coverage was part of my contribution to the 2nd edition.
