This is a pic of my mom and sister-in-law. I accidentally opened the film cover before it had completely rewound which is why the pic is so red on one side. I wanted to salvage it, but I had a lot of trouble following Katrin Eismann's light leak tutorial. I managed to get it cleaned up using color balance layers, variations and the dodge and sponge tools. Any suggsestions?
To start off with, a very good job! I always find light leaks a real pain to try to fix.
A couple of comments...
You've left the shadow areas very dark. I found that a little bit of tweaking of the shadows using the Highlight/Shadow feature in PSCS opened them up significantly (same effect could be achieved by other means if you don't have PSCS).
There are still a few reddidh or greenish coloured blotches on the right hand side of the picture -- not too bad and can be fixed by sampling colours and painting over on a blank layer set to color blend mode.
Your mother's skintones don't look entirely right on my monitor, although I haven't checked the numbers.

Thanks Leah. Although, I don't have PSCS (that's on my wishlist) I agree that I should lighten the shadows some. I knew something didn't look right, but after I have stared at a pic for so long sometimes it is hard for me to figure out just what that is. Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely tweak it some before I print it.
