Hi Stewart,
Welcome to RetouchPRO! :pleased:
If you are using Photoshop, you have probably already made an Internet research for "Photoshop tips, tricks, tutorials, etc" and came up with billions of pages on the topics!!!
When I started I was very confused as many of the tips were too advanced for me...but the two sites that helped me most, before 'stumbling' on RetouchPRO were:
Jay Arraich's.. (http://www.arraich.com/ps_intro.htm) which really takes you through nearly everything, (from basic to more advanced) in a very detailed and clear way... (Photoshop versions on his site are 6 and 7)
and:
Carl Volk's (http://www.carlvolk.com/photoshoptips.asp)
You should also check our Tutorials (http://www.retouchpro.com/tutorials), Tips (http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=44), Links (http://www.retouchpro.com/links/index.php) sections.
Hope this helps...and just 'yell' if you have more questions....

I'll check out the links you gave me

Welcome aboard Stewart. Flora certainly gave you some good links. When I started, it seemed like everything was over my head. But sticking with this site and wracking my brain, I was able to bluff my way through a few restorations. It's not something you learn overnight, but if you enjoy doing it, it's worth sticking with. You'll find the people on this site to be the friendliest on the net.
