I teach a Continuing Ed course in Photoshop Elements 2. The school where I teach has not yet updated to version 3 so I am stuck until they do. However, some people who take the course have previously downloaded the trial version of PE 2 and I have recommended your book and CD to them as well as pointing them to the website where they may download the free tools. In particular, I teach them how to use the Layer Mask

Now, however, the only download trial available is PE 3. Is there a free Layer Mask tool for use with PE 3?

The layer mask tool was added to the tools in the set included with the book. I will be making a free tool set (it takes time, you know, and the website needs updating first!), but it will likely not include tools from the book -- which means a free set will probably not have layer mask.

I have lots of things i need to take care of, like my free website and my free newsletter before I get to my free tools...you see all this free doesn't get me a lot. It isn't so bad to buy the book ;-).

the tools set alone can be had on the sybex website for only 19.99. That's about $600 worth of $10 tools for a twenty. Not a bad deal. The download is immediate.
