Legacy~Art 02-01-2005, 02:25 PM First i posterized the colors made them more vibrant then i added a effect of colour pen giving this lovely effect. I really like this one...I shall add it to my portfolio Legacy~Art 02-01-2005, 02:39 PM I did my first action i saved it too, not sure anyone would want it but if you want to know how it was done...your need to see the action... crex 02-01-2005, 02:54 PM Spatter Filter + Textures Overlay Legacy~Art 02-01-2005, 02:56 PM First i upped the colors and then added paper texture so it looked like oils on canvas saved that, and then opened photoshop opened the original then clicked for the oil copy to layer the original and then changed the opacity and then added it as overlay until i got it how i liked. Legacy~Art 02-01-2005, 02:58 PM I love that picture... I have never used spatter i shall have a look at that now thank you! Cred your picture make a great picture for a greeting card! JustChecking 02-01-2005, 04:07 PM stephen king anyone? :classic: when i first read the topic title i thought it's going to be something naughty  ;) some more of AHB mess of mine... as for those embossed layers, i put them on white before applying emboss... byRo 02-01-2005, 04:30 PM Started out thinking - AHA! Pointillize! But then I got into "What if..." mode and ended up with six pointillize layers at different radii. Overlayed them together and topped with some outlines. Rô Neve 02-01-2005, 04:45 PM Agh...a garden...at last! Thanks Legacy. Terrific posts  I lightened and brightened, rotated. Small amount of Texture Preserving Smooth. Impressionist/One of Cheryl's settings Broad Wash which I liked on this image immediately. Legacy~Art 02-01-2005, 05:30 PM JC that is gorgeous i love the rendition...Well done!!! Oh byRo that is adorable...i really like the pointillize layers...very nice! Neve that reminds me of a dreamy state of which would be the secret garden for sure its very well done and so pretty... (Thank you Neve i love finding good pictures...) Anyone like cross stitching? I have a site address for the thread codes if anyone is brave enough to attempt this... Neve 02-01-2005, 09:06 PM Second to computing, I love X-Stitching. Thanks for the offer but I already have an X-Stitch Software Program for converting images. Legacy~Art 02-02-2005, 04:23 AM Does X-Stitch Software give details on the colors used? I would love to get into adding X-cross patterns to the pictures i sell online. L.A. Neve 02-02-2005, 08:06 PM Hi Legacy....good idea! I have a cheap version of this program which is adequate for my needs. http://www.husqvarnastudio.co.uk/software/crossstitcher/ I had the same idea years ago i.e. to use my own designs but it seemed like hard work to moi, if only I were 20 years younger, got the ideas but not the energy anymore  Here are more X-Stitch programs.... http://www.pcstitch.com/Features/Features.aspx http://www.stitchcraft.com.au/ http://www.hobbyware.com/ I also have a links page at my site with a list of free X-Stitch patterns available on the net, you may enjoy a look at those sites too..... http://www.everascot.com/favourites/favourites.htm Legacy~Art 02-03-2005, 05:32 AM What a wonderful array of links...Thank you Neve...I got all the ideas i wish i had the funds to go ahead and do them all. glikster 02-04-2005, 06:22 AM First I want to apologize, I'm exhausted this morning, so I can't give the same amount of detail as usual. First ran Unsharp Mask. Used Danny's Chalk: Soft Detail Pastel Rain, faded to 25% then JCH's Van Gogh. Then Danny's Paint: Dry Brush Scrappy., faded a bit. Custom filter. Add texture using a layer mask. JustChecking 02-04-2005, 09:22 AM glikster, wonderful combination  monet would turn green from envy  ;) CJ Swartz 02-04-2005, 12:01 PM Lovely garden, LegacyArt! Some very nice renditions -- glikster's Monet is my current fav, I think. I added a Diffuse Glow to top layer, then painted on a layer mask to reduce the effect in some places - then ran pointillize on the mask. Liked the effect, and then made a mask from the red channel to make some change to the green leafy areas -- wasn't too happy with several tries, but then tried Pointillize on that selection and liked it. Thanks, ByRo, for the inspiration. Copied final and set layer blend to Overlay to enhance colors. Neve 02-04-2005, 05:13 PM Lovely result CJ. Glikster, this is super, thanks for the details which I'll be trying out very soon. :bigthmb: Legacy~Art 02-07-2005, 12:29 PM Surely turn green! glikster your monet is gorgeous! glikster 02-07-2005, 12:39 PM some people would think that I create photo-art just to fuel my ego when it turns out well.... They wouldn't be so far from the truth... No seriously, it means an enormous amount to me that the incredibly talented and creatively honest members of this board enjoyed my rendition. You all inspire me to create art. Thank you! Legacy~Art 02-07-2005, 12:42 PM Your painting reminds me of the cards from hallmark cards, awesome work! palms1 08-09-2006, 04:56 AM Yep i have found another "old " thread with some beautiful renditions i especialy like gliksters and here are another two by me now i must really start on what i was going to do ! ! ! ! Palms Steve Conway 08-09-2006, 08:25 AM Here are a couple of tries on this "bloomin'" image. :) Steve palms1 08-09-2006, 08:41 AM Nice images Steve what is the second one ? It gives me the impressin of being made from wool almost like knitting, it is quite tactile ( or is it all hush hush still ?) Palms Steve Conway 08-09-2006, 09:24 AM Thanks as always Palms. The second one is a yarn look. At least that was my intent. :dizzy: Yes. the program is still in beta, but this group will be the first to know when it goes public. (My own little Area 51... :devious: ) Steve Nice images Steve what is the second one ? It gives me the impressin of being made from wool almost like knitting, it is quite tactile ( or is it all hush hush still ?) Palms Swampy 08-09-2006, 12:34 PM I had the same idea years ago i.e. to use my own designs but it seemed like hard work to moi, if only I were 20 years younger, got the ideas but not the energy anymore  http://www.everascot.com/favourites/favourites.htm Me too, but it's not a matter of energy as it is eyesight. Just can't see the fine canvas anymore. I designed X-Stitch for years and also Blackwork, which I learned to love even more than standard x-stitch. Here's a sample of a blackwork piece I designed along with a closeup. Blackwork uses many of the techniques of embroidery to create patterns that form the shapes of the design. Usually done in one color of thread. Swampy 08-09-2006, 01:02 PM Feeling much better and shoulder is out of the sling so I can now reach my keyboard!! Had to have a play at this lovely photo! HSL adjustment, added a fresco filter and texture then painted back with the history brush at about 35% opacity. palms1 08-09-2006, 02:25 PM The pictures of your blackwork are impressive, i have only done x stitch from a chart Sorry you have been ill/injured yourself ( i thought you hadnt posted for a while, presumed you were on your hols ) it looks like you are getting better now though. hope you have a speedy recovery Palms dkcoats 08-09-2006, 03:07 PM Some nice ones here - Palms, I especially like your second version. I'm feeling my way in Artweaver lately - this is my latest exercise. Finished off in Photoshop. dc Swampy 08-09-2006, 03:27 PM Thanks, Palms.. Yeah, my dog got away from me (she wanted to chase ducks) pulled me down and broke my shoulder. I was in a sling that held my arm at a right angle to the keyboard and I couldn't do much of anything on my computer. Sling is gone now, although arm is still sore and I have physical therapy to look forward to starting next week. palms1 08-10-2006, 02:50 AM Thank you dc, looks like you are getting to grips fine with artweaver ( will have to look into one of the free paint programs, maybe in winter and when everyone else has worked them out ) Swampy good luck with the physio, Sorry for my bad sense of humour but i thought that the saying was " dogs dont bite the hand that feeds them " nothing in there about breaking the hands that feed them ! ! ! ! Palms Swampy 08-10-2006, 04:24 AM LOL, Palms She's so cute, but we've nicknamed her "Tude" because she really has an attitude! She's just getting to be more than I can handle and she's still young and full of energy and wants to chase anything that moves. palms1 08-10-2006, 06:35 AM Swampy she is sooooooooo cute and love the name Tude and may i say the pose is one of innocence ! ! ! Couldnt resist so have done a smudge ( the bigger the view the better the effect ) maybe you could post her photo in a new thread so others can have a go ? Palms PhotoVagrant 08-10-2006, 11:20 AM My attempt patriciakay 08-11-2006, 09:16 AM Well done again Palms for finding this lovely photo that Legacy posted.... To all the great work done so far....really enjoyed looking at it.... For my try i smear painted it in PainterIX,ran a pencil sketch script in PSP9, played around with the enhancement settings in photoshop, framed with an action in pshop... Patricia... :pleased: Swampy 08-11-2006, 09:34 AM Nice PK! The Frame reminds me of those "corners" my mom used to mount photos in albums, but hers were black. patriciakay 08-11-2006, 09:54 AM Thanks Swampy.... They also remind me of those old photo corners...wonder if they still sell them??? Patricia... :) |
