A relative emailed some tintype images to me. She scanned them at 600dpi. The quality looks OK.

How do I import an image from Outlook Express into Photoshop so that I can work on it?

Obviously I know very little about scanners - I have historically avoided mine except when I need a copy of something. The reason for the avoidance was that the initial software was the pits. The new driver, etc. has it running rather nicely now.

Thanks in advance,

Cliff.

have i understood this correctly? you recieved some pix in mail, in JPG format i guess... and want to get them to Photoshop?

in OE do one of the following:
1) right click the pic, choose "Copy", go to Photoshop, create new document (if everything went well, it should have the correct dimensions), and paste the pic to it (press Ctrl-V, or Shift-Insert)...
2) right click the pic, choose "Save image as...", save it on disk, and open in Photoshop...

I don't use the Express version, but in Outlook you can simply rightclick on an image and save it to your hard drive.

Well, color me red in the face. It was so cotton pickin' easy.

Thanks,
