View Full Version : Trimoon tutorials... Legacy~Art 02-15-2005, 04:56 PM Hello Everyone
I got the cd for trimoon portraits, i have tried it once, so this picture i got to show you is just the first time i have done this kind of tutorial, i got to tell you it really is NOT easy to do this, took me 3 hours to do this lol! 3 HOURS that is a long time, Trimoon says on his cd it now takes him 15 - 20 mins but err when he first started took him an hour, so err where did i go wrong HA!
Anyhow the cd is really good, i can see once i have more time to do the tutorials, and some peace and quiet i can do the painted portrait tutorials.
Had to edit and add a border it was too washed out! Janet Petty 02-15-2005, 05:14 PM What a wonderful picture...oh and wonderful work on it as well.
Seriously, you did very well.
Janet Hi Legacy, this is wonderful and congratulations on your first one. Is this a 'High Key' tutorial? Legacy~Art 02-15-2005, 05:42 PM Thanks Janet, not sure about the smudgy bit on the kid's head but i will get there in time...
Neve not sure what a high key tutorial is, it was using a mask and as "Tell" can tell you i didn't know what a photoshop mask was last week, so its using masks and smudges, if that is any help to you?
Thanks also...I shall keep trying and getting it right, i would love to get into a business of doing portraits, but i got a lot of learning to do. Legacy - I printed off an excellent Trimoon High Key Portrait tutorial a couple of years ago...I've just had a search for it but to no avail to show you for interest. However, here's a link discussing and showing this High Key technique.

Cheers Legacy~Art 02-15-2005, 07:32 PM Thanks i read that tutorial you posted and its different from that one, that one looks long winded. Trimoon cos its like those videos, and can have the sound talking in the background while you work on the project at hand, and stop it when you want to go back to it etc, upto now i approve :o: Legacy~Art 02-15-2005, 07:55 PM I did a colour pencil drawing, i shall add the thumbnail to it... jaykita 02-15-2005, 09:56 PM L.A. Both look wonderful to me. You seem to be on the right track. Keep it up. Glad you're making good headway and progress with your tutorials LA...! JustChecking 02-16-2005, 07:47 AM hey, those are great! fine work, Legacy~Art! Legacy~Art 02-16-2005, 08:31 AM Thank you - I would recommend the cds to everyone, only had the cd since monday...
I did another picture last night its abit addictive isn't it, i made an oil picture its good my friend was impressed, will add these to my portfolio and maybe put them on art paper.
Thumbs up for this forum its one of the best i have come across in 5 years of being online. I just recently bought some canvas paper and was hugely impressed after printing a couple of projects. Then hugely disappointed because the paper is now jamming....aaaaargh! Trimoon 02-16-2005, 04:50 PM Elle:
This is very nice! I like it a lot and think that it would look nice printed out on some nice textured art paper, depending on your printer. have an Epson 2200 that I print on art paper straight from the art store and they look marvelous. As for the time involved, I can only attribute that to your diligence. For me, I'm not trying to follow a tutorial and my work has become intuitive. It's hard to look at an image and decide which way to go. Some aren't suitable for a pencil sketch whereas some demand to be a watercolor. After a while, it becomes second nature. I donk't like to sit down and be forced to go in a particular direction but sometimes I have to do so. I prefer to let the image take me in the right direction.
Steve Legacy~Art 02-17-2005, 05:54 AM Thank you...I err change the picture alittle more, enhanced it! And i re-did the oil painting and cooled down the texture, i don't have a printer, i am taking my picture on a media card to asda walmart they print pictures from media cards.
I understand about the tutorial per picture look, as i did the pencil one in colour too but i prefered the black and white look better.
Thanks again :pleased:
