Not difficult to do. I selected the leopards and made multiple copies. The leopard pattern interested me.

Uh, oh! Similar to Phil's. Selected leopards, copies to transform. Perked them up with h/s and b/c.

That black frame with a touch of orange works really well with your picture.

Spectacular Tiger photo, Neve!

Nice texture, Xran, but the blue halo around your tiger selection needs to be reduced so that the edges are cleaner.

PhotoShop CS

I didn't want to manipulate these guys too much. I only added a slight "big fur" texture (which I faded a lot after applying). I made a layer for just the eyes and sharpened them a little. I added the background and made a copy of some palmetto fronds that were in the forground, duplicated and distorted them. Desaturated the background bayhead slightly with a GBlur.

Sometimes we treat effects and art filters like fonts. We think the more fonts we use in a document the more creative we appear. Sometimes a good photo can be enhanced but too much "art" can spoil the picture.

Hey I like that putting the grass in the foreground added some excitment and made it more interesting. Like you said; just because you can mess with something doesn't mean it should be done.

I Love their expressions -- she's looks a bit nervous, and is leaning tight against him, and he's showing his "Don't worry, I'm here" look... Wanted to retain those expressions, and just enhance it a bit.

Thought the cyan background was too distracting, and chose to replace it with a subdued green.

Hi :wavey:
Some beautiful leopards y'all have created.
If leopards could change their spots, they'd probably choose designer colors :) Just playing w/ gradients, textures, and blending modes.

Used PSP9 to enhance and run Art Media Paintbrush. Used PS7 to clone a few areas and add texture.

More AHB fun. Like CJ pointed out - the eyes tell the story so I tried to concentrate on them.

Very inspiring, Rô. Outstanding result!
This is a sketch effect, no filters, just some brushwork.

Neve, you've done a great job! I'm sure this image will print out beautifully on art paper. I like the way you treat different sections with different brushes in painter. Must try that out myself.
Btw, thanks for the encouragement which you give so generously and spontaneously to all here, just like Danny does. I'm going to miss you when you go on holiday!!! Have a great time!

My goodness Jaykita...you just brought a tear to my eye. I love sharing as we all do at RetouchPRO and especially now that there's a few of us learning Painter albeit slowly but surely for moi. Yep...I hop about from one lot of brushes to the other until I get a result.

Half-way packed to go but not leaving till Sunday...so enjoying my last flings at RetouchPRO... :lmao: and I'll miss being creative every day for a couple of weeks...however, I'll have the dig cam on hols and hopefully have some beauties to post when I get back.

P.S. Printing - I got myself some canvas paper about a month ago, I printed off two results alright and they were terrific. However, my printer doesn't like this canvas paper anymore and refuses to feed properly. But yes, and besides, they do print up very well on good quality Matte and also water color papers.

Neve,

We'll all miss you when your away but look forward to the pics you'll bring back and share with us.

Interested to see you got some canvas paper - is that the paper with a canvas texture? I got some real canvas which is treated on one side for inkjet printing (not cheap so have to think before I use it). Tried one picture of an orchid and the results are really amazing. There is one company in the UK that you can e-mail pictures to and they will print on canvas, stretch and block mount, but that is even more expensive £30+ for an 8 x 10 inch. The real canvas works out at about £1.66 a sheet plus the ink. I like the results on the textured paper as well better than an image texture.

Hi Christine, Interesting topic re papers. Yes, mines is coated canvas for inkjet printing and after a lot of searching settled for a batch of it from here...

http://www.theeconozone.com/Paper/vesta-inkjet-canvas.html

My problem has everything to do with my printer I'm certain and nothing to do with the above canvas coated paper. The results I got were marvellous when I did the two earlier prints. I dream of winning the lotto of course and getting an A3 printer, that way you can buy rolls of canvas...geez...what a rare thought :lmao: Why should my husband paint the walls again when we can cover them with our Photo Art.

They do Glicee printing here in Oz and that's very expensive too much like the pricey one you mentioned. Interestingly, I had a visit 1/2 hour ago from a friend who has built himself (literally) a Castle locally. He spotted a Watercolour I did of a Scottish Castle and keen for me to do something similar for him. Another jaunt with my dig cam coming up and regretting I can't use my canvas paper for this upcoming project.

I have a dear friend who owns a business in Ft. Lauderdale specializing in Glicee printing. Mike was about 15 years old when I met him at an Atari Fest (this goes way back to the mid 80's). He was a genius with computers and PhotoShop back then. Geez, the kid was building network systems for a large print shop, burning CD's and selling color work way back then.

His business caters to artists, decorators, cruise lines and high end hotel/restraunt trades. Artist bring him their original canvases to be digitized and printed on the wide format Epsons. Mike has a natural talent in color reproduction and tweaking stuff in PhotoShop to produce spectacular canvases. They even print on tile, plastic and glass. I've seen some tile work that he did for custom table tops to go in a new restaurant - beautiful!!

If you are in south Florida and need such services try... PrintVillage on State Road 84 West in Ft. Lauderdale.

Florida - bit too far to go i'm afraid...

Neve - thanks for that link the prices from there are a lot cheaper than here - almost the same as I would pay for canvas textured paper here.

On the lines of Leopard never changes its spots but my imagination dropped off the wagon!

Here i played about with the curves and added dry brush effect and plastic coating on an opacity and the rest is a history i cannot remember.

Used adjustment layers for levels and curves.
Did some work with the masks for the adjustment layers to manipulate the leopards and the blue background seperately.
Multiplied the foreground wood over itself to bring out a bit of it's texture.

Love these two! Thanks again to Neve for finding the original, thanks to Peter for bringing it back up to the top.

Peter -- nice renditions! The first almost makes them look like snow leopards.
Steve -- I agree -- they would make nice valentines. Nice work. I like the first best just because I love their expressions and it retains them most.

Swampy planted some greenery in front of them long ago, and I think that helped place them back in Nature. I gave them some grasses to hide in, and the shady canopy to let the sun filter thru and dapple his coat a bit.
