Retouch it, manipulate it , do whatever you want! DannyRaphael 02-22-2005, 12:44 PM Lovely picture to work with. I can see why you chose this one. Here's a shot at something arty... Generally speaking a larger attachment, e.g., ~ 5x7 or higher at the same or higher resolution would yield better results. If you have Photoshop, File > Save for Web is an easy way to tweek file size to come under the 100KB site maximum. For "arty effects" the quality setting isn't as important as for normal pics. Upload more if you like. Thanks for the opportunity to play... :) ~Danny~ Legacy~Art 02-25-2005, 05:06 AM I don't reconise your name so i presume your new, so nice to meet you, i just recently got one of Trimoons cds, so i shall later this evening attempt a family portrait of your picture if that is okay with you, philbach 02-25-2005, 06:30 AM Yes a larger file size would be easier to work with. I ran Isabell's sketch action on this nice family. Thanks for posting it. jaykita 02-25-2005, 09:06 AM A beautiful shot and a great looking family, tiink777. Welcome to our little corner of the planet, btw! I agree with Danny and philbach, wish it were a larger file. philbach 02-25-2005, 12:38 PM Very nice. I like your rendering better than mine. How did you do it? Legacy~Art 02-25-2005, 08:26 PM You did say "Whatever" to this picture didn't you? Okay well, sorry its taken forever but i have slept most of the day, have lent my nephews laptop for the weekend, as my computer needs a new hard drive, so photoshop on his laptop is alittle limited on things i can do. Now a family portrait i thought..........mmmmmmmmm your picture of the guy at the back looked like he needed to cuddle up more, and i err moved you all about abit, and gave the guy some more locks, anyhow here it is, if you would like the larger picture without the season greetings and border your have to email me cos its large file. Janet thank you for your kind email i shall email you tomorrow, must go back to bed now. Photoshop..................I enlarged this picture to about 18 inches by 20 i think. Had to reduce it to upload it here. Duv 02-25-2005, 09:15 PM Isolated one subject. Color Correcte..sort of. Applied Wow.Edge Enhance action twice. Sharpened. Cheers Dave jaykita 02-26-2005, 11:40 AM Very nice. I like your rendering better than mine. How did you do it? Thanks Phil. I mainly worked with layer masks. First a layer of pencil sketch created in the usual "color dodge, g'blur" way, then g'blurred it, usm, increased brightness-contrast" for stronger lines. Then below it place original -vp airbrushed. Used a layer mask on the pencil sketch layer, filled in the colors from original airbrushed layer. Merged. Tweaked some more. Also buzzed it, simplified 1. Duv 02-26-2005, 12:30 PM Here's one with a couple of hits of Draganizer action plus a bit of dodging and burning. Added a portrait effect action and Fievels Gothic Glow. Slight texture at end. Cheers Dave cardmnal 02-26-2005, 03:35 PM I really didn't want to do much to the subjects of this photo they look so great, so I came up with my "Dream Family" rendition. I just fouind this site a couple of days ago and this is the first time I had a chance to start going through it. It is inspiring, what you all are sharing here :hat:. I was dying to get my feet wet and jump in. Legacy~Art 02-26-2005, 04:02 PM And welcome aboard! cardmnal nice work hun, keep them coming okay we look forward to seeing your work! :wavey: philbach 02-27-2005, 04:06 AM Very nice rendering. It looks like you used the liquify filter over a black background and sort of dragged the pixels away from the center of attention. How did you do it?? You're now officially wet and one of the gang. :) I like your concept and would also like to know more about how you got your results. ~Danny~ cardmnal 02-27-2005, 10:14 PM I am glad you liked it. I didn't know what I was going to do so I just started playing. Here's what I did. -First, I isolated the family and cut them out of the image. -Second, I used the stylize filter and diffused the background. -Third, went to liquify and applied a punk brush to draw the background towards the middle, then I pasted the family back in. -Next, I made an elpitical selection around the people and inversed it. -I then went back into liquify and brushed from the bottom center up and out _last of all, while the selection was still inversed I equalized.
