Here's a shot at something arty...

Generally speaking a larger attachment, e.g., ~ 5x7 or higher at the same or higher resolution would yield better results. If you have Photoshop, File > Save for Web is an easy way to tweek file size to come under the 100KB site maximum. For "arty effects" the quality setting isn't as important as for normal pics.

Upload more if you like.

Okay well, sorry its taken forever but i have slept most of the day, have lent my nephews laptop for the weekend, as my computer needs a new hard drive, so photoshop on his laptop is alittle limited on things i can do.

Now a family portrait i thought..........mmmmmmmmm your picture of the guy at the back looked like he needed to cuddle up more, and i err moved you all about abit, and gave the guy some more locks, anyhow here it is, if you would like the larger picture without the season greetings and border your have to email me cos its large file.

Photoshop..................I enlarged this picture to about 18 inches by 20 i think. Had to reduce it to upload it here.

Isolated one subject. Color Correcte..sort of. Applied Wow.Edge Enhance action twice. Sharpened.

Thanks Phil. I mainly worked with layer masks.
First a layer of pencil sketch created in the usual "color dodge, g'blur" way, then g'blurred it, usm, increased brightness-contrast" for stronger lines. Then below it place original -vp airbrushed. Used a layer mask on the pencil sketch layer, filled in the colors from original airbrushed layer. Merged. Tweaked some more. Also buzzed it, simplified 1.

Here's one with a couple of hits of Draganizer action plus a bit of dodging and burning. Added a portrait effect action and Fievels Gothic Glow. Slight texture at end.

I just fouind this site a couple of days ago and this is the first time I had a chance to start going through it. It is inspiring, what you all are sharing here :hat:. I was dying to get my feet wet and jump in. :happy:

I am glad you liked it. I didn't know what I was going to do so I just started playing. Here's what I did.

-First, I isolated the family and cut them out of the image.
-Second, I used the stylize filter and diffused the background.
-Third, went to liquify and applied a punk brush to draw the background towards the middle, then I pasted the family back in.
-Next, I made an elpitical selection around the people and inversed it.
-I then went back into liquify and brushed from the bottom center up and out
_last of all, while the selection was still inversed I equalized.
