Luminosity Masks
Nice action... Very handy tool.
Personally, I prefer to have individual actions each of which adds a curve adjustment layer with its mask populated accordingly. One can then select the desired action(s) beforehand, then click Play to launch the highlighted action(s). To me this is simpler than having to flip back/forth between the layers and channels palettes to activiate the alpha channels.Posted 05-22-2011 at 11:50 AM by DannyRaphael

Luminosity Masks
With this action you do not create layers - but channels, which can than be tweaked with adjustment layers. As you will see, there are 12 channels created in the channels palette and depending what you want to do to the image you ctrl-click on one of the channels, be sure your master channel is selected, go back to the layers palette, make a curve adjustment layer and your channel selection will be on the layers mask. Here you can now tweak the curve...Posted 04-15-2009 at 03:57 PM by amica999

I mean, How can I create a layer which is my Luminosity.
A B/W image which is my current image Luminosity channel.
Thanks.Posted 04-15-2009 at 10:09 AM by Drazick

Luminosity Masks
Not sure if I understand
Drazick, not sure if I understand your question, but you actually already have luminosity in your picture, you don't need to create it. With this action you can however improve the lights and shadows in your picture.Posted 04-15-2009 at 09:49 AM by amica999

Luminosity Masks
my pov, I am running CS4 and I do not have a mac, unfortunately
When running this action your channel palette will show lots of masks, and depending on what you want to do - for example muting highlights - you would ctrl-click on one of the light masks to see if it covers your problem area - if not choose another one. You can always tread the masks with levels to adress your changes - ctrl-click on the desired channel and highlight your rgb composite - go back to your layers palette and click on adjustment layers - curves - your selection will appear in the AL-mask - there you can make your changes. Hope this helps. Send me a notice if not...Posted 03-28-2009 at 07:08 PM by amica999

Luminosity Masks
Without fail.. running the actions In CS4 on my MAC i get alerts advising me that the gray layer is not available.
thus the action will does not produce the desired effect.
What do I need to know to successfully use these actions?
Thank you.Posted 03-27-2009 at 12:41 PM by _my_pov

Luminosity Masks
Thank you OB...I had the action ready for personal use and while chatting with Palms I decided to "publish" it and than thought about some comments, stops, etc. Will rework as soon as I find some time...Especially at the end I noticed that I did not reselect the RGB, so image looks much darker. If you have the time to "make it more fancy" :-) pls feel free to do so.Posted 02-19-2009 at 03:56 PM by amica999

Luminosity Masks
Thanks Amica, you did a bang up job with these!
They worked as they were supposed to for me..
A small suggestion.. you might make a comment at the beginning for inexperienced users telling them that they are located in channels, then how to select from channels pallet and use/place the masks on the layer pallet, then how to adjust the curvePosted 02-17-2009 at 12:51 PM by 0lBaldy
