The Nodal Point - part 1

When I started shooting panos, I noticed that some of my assembled images did not quite align properly.

It was not the camera, the software, or, I thought, the technique used. In all cases I was shooting using the same camera and the software was the same.

Assuming it was the software that was doing a lousy job, I experimented with all packages that were available. At one time I had six different trial packages installed...

The problem "stitches"...

I hate blog posts that sound like they might be educational, but end up being nothing more than attempts to get conversation going. That strategy is welcome in a forum, I do it myself all the time. But blogs should be an offering of knowledge, opinion, or just interesting thoughts, not a plea for readers to supply same.

Something About Holga

Posted 01-02-2008 at 11:58 PM by cardmnal
I have been noticing an interesting trend locally in recent months. It has been the rebirth, so to speak, of medium format photography. To be more specific it has been a surge of the local population shooting 120 film with Holga Cameras.

For those of you not familiar with the Holga, it is a cheap plastic toy camera that is made in China. They do not offer much control over the results, focusing is limited, vignetting is extreme and they all leak light…yet they are getting more popular...
