Color cast repair (Eismann retouch book)

Posted 08-22-2009 at 07:45 AM by Nasturtium (Ramble on)

Holy moly! DH is red/green color blind and didn't notice that his white balance was all the way to one side in the green picture on the left. I fixed this with levels, curves and apply image (on channels). This is some powerful stuff.

I got lost in chapter four...

I've never thought to combine blending modes with adjustment layers. Cool.

I've always had a vague idea about levels, curves and blending modes but she explains clearly what happens with those adjustments. I'm much more likely to retain something if I'm told why instead of how.

here you can make bart say what you want

I've been messing around with PS color swatches at
kuler.adobe.com

My apologies to everyone who has left comments on my blog so far. I'm still not completely sure how to approve them....

The next

Posted 08-20-2009 at 02:04 PM by palms

The next couple of photo's,
I especially like the first one of these the second being a bit too dark but that was a experiment Pity the clematis wasnt in better shape, but it is getting late in the season for them.

Now i don't want to give out the wrong impression here, there where plenty that went into the bin mainly due to not getting the distance right and the wind blowing

It may be a long time till i next post some as i will be trying out on humans...

non "Auto " photo's

As i have said before in a previous blog i was going to try and not be a happy snapper so much, and try to get to better grips with my camera, well during then and now i have tried unsuccessfully, every now and then tried different things that i had read with very little results

Then i asked someone for any tips they had on photographing red flowers and they very kindly answered...

Dave Hill

Okay, I admit that I'm late to the Dave Hill party. But honestly I didn't get it until I saw this page.

What really impressed me is how used every method known to man to manipulate your focus - selective color...the feeling of movement..sharpening/blurring. And he does this over sharpened high-pass/(over baked) HDRish thing to manage shadows and highlights. Not to mention a fish-eye effect...The 16th picture of the lady at the starting block is just amazing IMHO.
