Channel Action from the First Calculations show

Posted 12-19-2009 at 05:10 PM by cricket1961

Hello Everyone

Here is the action mentioned in the show to create the separate document with all of the masking channels included.

Please don't forget to install the HSB/HSL filter from your original Adobe Photoshop instal dvd.
Without that plug-in, you will not get some of the masking channels available to you!

I will post at a later time a better explanation of the blend modes to better understand starting points using calculations.

Many thanks, Chris it is too late now for me in Italy, but tomorrow I start to work with Calculations very early in the morning.

Thanks for the acton Chris. While I enjoyed the webinar I sure would have liked to get inside your head to hear your thoughts when you were walking through channels evaluating them for their use a little more. I think it has become 2nd nature to you at this point. LOL. I didn't know about the HSB/HSL plugins and expect this plugin to really help me make better use of channels as it makes it so very easy. Tks again

    question on "Separate Channels" action

    Hi Chris,
Installed the separate channels action. Worked fine. Question - which if any of the created channels corresponds to the original RGB channels of my RGB image? I see HSL, HSB, LAB, and CMYK channels, but no RGB channels.
    Thanks, Joe

Chris, thanks so much for the webinar and for sharing your action -- that really speeds up the process since I'm not sure how I'd do it on my own (have to look at your action to see).

Cippy, You are correct. i will fix that and get a new action up before christmas. Odd that I missed it. But at least you can still pull from the original RGB file if that is what you are starting from.

Calculations has been a 'sleeping giant' to me, not understanding it; but after watching the webinar yesterday, it has brought much of the mystery, down to size. I so appreciate you doing this and to RetouchPro, for putting it on!
