It's your blog. Edit it how you like.
However...
Realize that bots are taking snapshots, and people are referring their friends. So if what they're interested in isn't here when they arrive, or has drastically changed, theyprobably won't ever come back might get confused. And remember, the key is more readers over time, not less.
I'm not talking about spelling or grammar corrections here, but substantive edits that change the meaning or expand upon the original copy.
Two techniques that I've come across that work when you just need to edit but still want the original text to be seen:
UPDATE: A 3rd option is to use the editor's builtin "Reason for editing", but I personally feel this is weak and likely to be overlooked. Did you see mine up above? Plus each reason overwrites the previous one.

- An "UPDATE:" entry at the bottom. This is good for when there's new developments, or if a comment has caused you to reevaluate your position. Or if you've just found some new stuff to share.
- Strikout is
the absolute besta really great way to indicated small but important changes, while still preserving the original copy.

| | Doug, how do I edit after I have posted my blog entry? How do I use the strikeover? I couldn't figure out how to edit after I had posted an entry and then noticed that I had made some errors, so I copied the entry, deleted it, and reposted a corrected version. I would rather be able to re-enter my posts and edit, but I haven't seen an "edit" button. What am I missing? |

| | Thank you, Doug!!Thank goodness, with your guidance (and a little bit of time), I finally saw the pencil icon and can EDIT! I cannot tell you how important it is to me to be able to edit anything that I write -- I am rarely willing to write anything anywhere unless I know that I can make changes. So, again, many, many thank-yous! I've seen the strike-thru in blogs I've read and wanted to be able to do that also -- doesn't take much to make an old lady happy. |
