Why should I want a blog?

Some random thoughts for those wondering how a blog is "better" than the forums:

The forums are more insular. Think of the forums as an intercom system. Blogs are your megaphone blasting out at the rest of the world.
You can categorize. Have multiple interests? Make a category for each. That way if someone is interested in cats but not so much woodworking, they can still follow without being bothered by uninteresting topics.
Forums are about "discussions" and "community". Blogs are about "you".
